- BLACK BEANS
Black beans are small, oval beans with deep, black skins and a dark crème-to-grey flesh inside. They are sometimes referred to as Turtle beans. Black beans are used in classic Latin American, Caribbean and Southwestern (U.S.) cooking in soups, stews and sauces. Black bean production is most suited for the Michigan, North Dakota, and Minnesota regions.
